George Spicer Newsletter - 19th July 2024
There we have it, 190 school days done – time flies when you are having fun!! Hopefully your children have had many, many enjoyable moments throughout the year, as I have sat trying to write this there have been so many for me as Headteacher. As well as the learning within the classroom there have been all the extra visits and trips that bring so many smiles. Sitting in the dining rooms this week I have asked the children how they have done with the challenge I set for them all at the start of the year – to be their best self and I have loved hearing all the answers. The final week of term is always busy as I become Mr Kipling with all my Tea Parties, again hearing of all the positive reasons they were nominated for stars of the week.
This week is also emotional as we bid farewell to our Year 6s as we send them on their way to their various schools ready for their next chapter. We also wish those children in other year groups, who are leaving all the very best in their new schools. Remember to spread Spicer Spirit wherever you are. This year we are also saying goodbye to a number of staff and I’m sure you will join me in thanking them for all their efforts and good luck with whatever they are doing next.
In my final assembly today I announced the new House Captains both in Year 6 and for the first time in Year 2, lots of exciting plans for House events and ways to gain house points which we will go into greater detail with next term. I did set the children a Summer Holiday challenge based on my most favourite of the school values and that is to be kind as much as possible and whenever possible during the holidays, hopefully that helps for the next 57 days because tag you’re it! Have a wonderful Summer.
